Veteran Seedsman Nathan Louiso to Lead Meristem’s “All-Star” Sales Team

14 June 2024, Columbus: Veteran ag industry seedsman and business leader Nathan Louiso has joined the management team at Meristem Crop Performance as Vice President and National Sales Manager. In the new role, Louiso will focus near-term on building the sales organization to better serve the growing number of farm businesses benefiting from Meristem’s innovative product portfolio, including the game-changing Bio-Capsule® seed fluency delivery system.

“We are helping farmers make real productivity gains at the local level,” said Meristem Founder and CEO Mitch Eviston in making the announcement. “Nathan’s experience will help us as we quickly expand our all-star sales team and dealer network to effectively serve more farmers and create a wider pathway for this new technology.”

Louiso, and his wife Julie together launched AXIS Ohio in 2016 and their new seed company became a dealer for Meristem Crop Performance upon Meristem’s launch in 2019. Prior to starting AXIS Ohio, Louiso earned a degree in Ag Economics from Ohio State University and worked with AgriGold Seed, where he was instrumental in building out their business in several roles, including regional sales manager. He served as chairman of the Ohio Agribusiness Association (OABA) in 2017. Nathan and Julie have three boys – Chance, Gavin and Simon – and live in the country near Morrow, Ohio.

“In my career I have been fortunate to work with a few true visionaries, and I count Meristem’s top leaders – Mitch and Rob — among them,” Louiso says. “Meristem is honestly helping farmers get more bushels at a lower cost per each bushel produced, and the opportunity to manage the team that’s bringing this innovation to more farmers is truly exciting.” Louiso hopes his own perspective as a dealer will help him as he leads the Meristem sales team.

“As the second dealer they signed, I’ve been a part of this story from the beginning,” he smiles. “It’s always been my intent to put family first, work hard, treat people fairly and always be thankful, and that meshes perfectly with Meristem’s approach. In my new position I look forward to living that out and taking our “more-bushels-for-less” mission to the next level.”

Meristem President and CMO Rob McClelland says all sales functions will now report to Louiso and says his track record as an agronomist, salesman, entrepreneur, and business leader made his selection for the new senior leadership position an easy choice.

“Nathan loves helping people meet their potential almost as much as he loves to see a corn hybrid express its full potential,” says McClelland, “and his own experience as an independent, family-owned business gives him unique insight in serving our growing number of those kind of farm businesses all across the country. We’re excited to tap into his know-how.”

At AXIS Ohio, Julie Louiso will continue her leadership role, supported by long-time seed expert Adam Conrad in his new role of general manager.
