Agro-product Exports in the First 5 Months of 2024 Brought in 24.14 Billion USD

30 May 2024, VN: According to the statistics report, agricultural, forestry and fishery export turnover in May 2024 is estimated to reach 5.06 billion USD, an increase of 11.2% compared to May 2023; bringing the total export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the first 5 months of 2024 to 24.14 billion USD, an increase of 21% over the same period in 2023.

Of which, the export value of agricultural products reached 13.11 billion USD, increased by 27.7%; livestock product export value reached 199 million USD, an increase of 5.6%; seafood export value reached 3.5 billion USD, up 3.6%; Forest product export value reached 6.58 billion USD, up 22.7%; production input export value reached 756 million USD, down 1.3%; Salt export value reached 1.9 million USD, down 1.4%.

Estimated total export value of agriculture, forestry and fishery products in the first 5 months of 2024 of Vietnam to markets in the Americas region reaches 5.4 billion USD, up 23.1% over the same period last year; Africa reached 459 million USD, up 26.1%; Asia reached 11.31 billion USD, up 17.5%; Europe reached 3.2 billion USD, up 39.4%; and Oceania reached 341 million USD, an increase of 24.8%. The share of Vietnam’s AFF exports to regions in the first 5 months of 2024 is as follows: Asia accounts for 46.8%; America accounts for 22.5%; Europe accounts for 13.3%; Africa accounts for 1.9%; and Oceania accounts for 1.4%.

In the first 5 months of 2024, the United States, China and Japan are the three largest export markets for agricultural, forestry and fishery products of Vietnam. Export value to the US market accounts for 20.6%, up 23.9% over the same period in 2023; the Chinese market accounted for 19.2%, an increase of 8.6% and the Japanese market accounted for 6.7%, an increase of 6.6%.
