Additional Secretary (DARE) & Financial Advisor (ICAR) visits ICAR-DFR, Pune

26 April 2024, Pune: Ms. Alka Nangia Arora, Additional Secretary (DARE) and Financial Advisor (ICAR) visited ICAR-Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune to review financial matters, including budget utilization, audit paras, and CPWD issues. She interacted with the members on several issues and advised the institutes to seek clarifications from IFD for complex issues that cannot be resolved at the institute level. Ms. Arora urged the staff to explore the possibilities of commercializing floral teas with major players who market such niche products. She also interacted with the scientific, administrative, and technical staff of the institute and suggested several potential areas for research and development in flower crops based on her previous experience of working with MSME & KVIC programmes. Later, she also visited the research farm of the institute and shared her experiences.

Dr. K.V Prasad, Director, ICAR-DFR, briefed about the ongoing research programmes, cadre strength at the HQ, and its regional station at Kadiyam in Andhra Pradesh.
