03 July 2024, Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of State for Transport and Women & Child Development, Mr. Aseem Goel, met with Union Agriculture Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi today. He urged Union Agriculture Minister to convince the protesting farmers at Shambhu, Ambala district border to open the border.
Mr. Aseem Goel stated that farmers at the village Shambhu, located at the Ambala district border, started their protest about five and a half months ago, resulting in the closure of the border since then. This closure has caused difficulties for the general public, particularly for traders, in conducting their business. He emphasized that the central government should engage in discussions with the protesting farmers to convince them to open the border. Opening the border will provide relief to the local residents and facilitate easier business operations for traders.
Union Agriculture Minister, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured the Transport Minister that the central government is serious about this issue and will take action soon.
