Quinquennial Review Team visits ICAR-NBSS&LUP, RC Kolkata

22 May 2024, Kolkata: Quinquennial Review Team visited the ICAR-National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning RC Kolkata today.

Dr. N. G. Patil, Director, NBSS&LUP, Nagpur, stated that the Centre generated huge revenue through externally funded research projects within a short period.

Dr. P. S. Minhas, Chairman, QRT, urged conducting basic pedological research besides digital soil mapping of agroecological sub-regions. Benchmark soils from selected states in AER can be identified for field-level validation of digital soil mapping.

After the interaction, the team visited the soil museum, GIS-cum-RS laboratory, soil physical, chemical laboratory, and other infrastructures like the staff quarter, and guest house.
